In 2016 we got know with Ms. Penny Clements and her wonderful female choir, Benesonantes. They sang christmas carols in the front of the Basilica, in the Institute of Musicology and in St. Michael’s Church.
Now in 2018, 2 years later they returned to Budapest, to help tune in advent period. Their repertoire was so beautiful, you could listen to „Oh holy night”, „Silent Night” or the „It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”. They performed us after Welsh and Polish songs our most beautiful christmas carol from our childhood the „Mennyből az angyal” in Hungarian. The audince was really touched, the performance was perfect.
The first venue was the Institute of Musicology in the Castle. In the Bartók hall, behind the choir you could see the snow covered Budapest through the big windows, until the ladies sang. The sound of Bartók’s piano and the voice of the choir together was really festive.
Next day the choir was the part of Budapest Christmas Fair as a performer. There were -3 degrees, snow, sparkling lights, divine christmas scents, sounds wonderful, right? The concert was very cozy, the interest was high, the choir enjoyed that they could sang again their advent repertoire.
When they didn’t sing, they have sightseeings, tried traditional foods and enjoyed the winter Budapest with our professional tour guide.
They promised, they will return again in 2020!
We are happy about it, as they were very lovely ladies, it was pleasure to work together with them.
